CTC Presents at the Executive Office of Health and Human Services: Healthcare Workforce Transformation Summit
On June 16, 2017, the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) hosted a Healthcare Transformation Summit at the Crowne Plaza Hotel with a focus on preparing the workforce for a healthy Rhode Island. There were several breakout session workshops where panelists shared healthcare workforce innovations from across the US and RI. Additionally, the workshop participants discussed opportunities to address RIs health system and workforce transformation priorities. CTC-RI Community Health Team Program Director Elizabeth Fortin, LICSW, Program Director, and CTC Integrated Behavioral Health Practice Facilitator Nelly Burdette Psy.D., served on the respective panels.
CTC-RI hosted a vendor table with information on the Community Health Team (CHT) program, the Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) program, the Pediatric Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH-Kids) Initiative, and overall CTC-RI informational resources.
The summit was an exciting opportunity to learn from and with other healthcare colleagues about innovative programs and strategies from across the US and Rhode Island to prepare the current and future workforce to meet the needs of our rapidly evolving healthcare system.
The breakout session workshops covered topics such as:
- Workforce Issues in Community Health Teams;
- Community-Based Interprofessional Education;
- Workforce Issues in Integrated Behavioral Healthcare;
- Challenges and Opportunities for Direct Care Workforce; and
- New and Evolving Healthcare Occupations
